Website Design
Scott Binnie has been designing websites since 1994, and has worked with all types of content, from ongoing news and community based sites, to web presence and marketing sites, e-commerce projects, multimedia sites, personal promotion pages, and vertical market projects for amateur sports teams, non-profit organizations and political candidates.
Since that time, ongoing research and learning has resulted in the knowledge of what works, what doesn't, and how to know the difference in any given situation. The dramatic evolution of website design, alone, has required that we keep abreast of all new technologies and study their ramifications, not only on the technical delivery of web pages, but on how they impact on the user's expectations.
Most of our current work is developed using content management systems (CMS), and in particular using the Joomla! CMS. We have found it to be a robust platform with more usable 'off the shelf' components and modules available than any other CMS. Due to years of programming in a language known as 'PHP', the underlying language of Joomla!, and because we made a commitment years ago to XHTML and CSS compliance, we can custom tailor add-ons to our clients' specific needs.

Web Development
Due to the relatively recent introduction of stable and mature CMS platforms, Scott Binnie spent 8 years developing the dynamic front end and the administrative back end of websites utilizing the combination of the PHP programming language and the open-source MySQL database system.This combination is the foundation for many of the web's top sites of today. The experience gained through the years of it's use provides the ability to create custom applications if they do not currently exist.

Web Hosting
In 1994, there were very limited options for available web hosting. Over the years this challenge has been met through the aggressive development of web infrastructure throughout the world. Server farms have come an gone, but a few of them have become mainstays in the industry simply due to the quality of their facilities, the quantity of servers they house and their commitment to customer service. Subsequently what cost thousands of dollars per month 10 years ago can be had now for less than $100 per month today.
It became apparent in the late 1990's that it would be more cost effective for us to resell existing server space rather than develope an in-house farm. This arrangement has served us well for over 10 years. We control the servers we remotely operate, and confidently provide our clients with an inexpensive hosting solution that has experienced less than .001% down time in that duration.
